Many of us these days are constantly on the move, whether it’s from one meeting to another, from one place to another, from one social media post to another, from one day to another, and never really finding time to pause

One of the joys of the pilgrimage walks around Bury has been that there have been many opportunities to pause. Indeed, as the sign I saw on my first walk instructed, to properly stop, look and listen. Such moments have enabled me to see and hear things, I would normally have missed.
But it goes further, these pauses have also become pauses with God. Stopping. Looking. Listening. They become moments of prayer, moments to enjoy the company of God. Such pauses provide the Spirit with a moment to speak, to show, to remind.
And so back in the everyday, how might I continue to pause more? Well, I can make sure I pay attention to the stop signs; perhaps place them strategically around my everyday. And I can remember to be a pilgrim everyday trying to go at walking pace.
Yes, I must pause for a moment..it could just become momentous.
